Film
Development Board (FDB) is established
on 30 June 2000 by the Government of Nepal according
to the existed Motion Picture (Production,
Exhibition and Distribution) Act amended
on 20th November 1991.
The constitution of the Film Development
Board was with the Government's deep interest in development
and promotion of motion picture sector in Nepal.
Therefore, the provision is made for the Board headed
by a film personality espoused with Joint Secretaries
as ex-officio members as representatives of the related
line Ministries.

| Amendment
on few Schedules of Motion Picture Rules, 2057: |

| Feb. 2, 2009: Government
of Nepal has amended some of the Schedules of Motion
Picture (Production, Distribution and Exhibition) Rules,
2057 on Feb. 2, 2009 as per the recommendation of Film
Development Board. The notice from the Ministry of Information
and Communications has been released on February 2,
2009.
