Founded in 30 June 2000, Film Development Board celebrated
the 10th Anniversary of its establishment day on Asadh 16,
2067 (June 30, 2010). More than 200 participants attended
the anniversary, where Chief Guest Shanker Pokhrel, Minister
of Information and Communications (MoIC); Guests - former
board chairpersons - Yadav Kharel, Neer Shah, Mukunda P. Acharya,
Shambhujeet Baskota, Krishna Malla; Sushil Ghimire- Secretary
of MoIC, Mahendra Prasad Guragain-joint secretary of MoIC,
board members of Film Development Board, President and executive
members of film related organisations, stakeholders, artists,
technicians, directors, filmmakers, government officials,
students, journalists and board staffs were participated.
The program was inaugurated by Minister of Information and
Communications (MoIC), Shanker Pokhrel.
The program was chaired by Amar Raj Giri, Chairperson of
FDB. Chief Guest Shanker Pokhrel released two books published
by Film Development Board, Nepal :
i) Filming in Nepal- A Guide Book (2010),
written & edited by Chiranjibi Guragain and
ii) Chalchitra Munch during the program.
This year 8 former chairpersons of Film Development
Board i) Yadav Kharel, ii) Neer Shah, iii) Mukunda Prasad
Acharya, iv) Shambhujeet Baskota, v) Krishna Malla, vi) Sailesh
Raj Acharya, vii) Ishwar Chandra Gyawali, and viii) Ganesh
Bhandari were decorated with Certificate
of Appreciation from the hand of Chief Guest
for their efforts on the promotion and development of Nepalese
film industry during their working period in FDB. Senior female
artist Basundhara Bhusal was also decorated with Certificate
of Appreciation for her efforts on forming
'Cine Workers Welfare Fund' since its inception. In addition
to this, Member Secretary Dhruba Lal Rajbanshi briefed the
current board activities and future plan of board to the participants. |
